Hey peeps,

How are all of you doing?

So as of last Saturday, I am 35 years old. I’ve been out and about as an “adult” for about a decade and a half or so, give or take, and Fox Saliant has been around for most of that time, so it’s really weird to think about it sometimes.

I’ve been ruminating on the last few years and the sheer exhaustion I’ve felt. Hell, right now I’m pretty physically worn out myself and I haven’t really even done anything today aside from the drawing for the update. But, thinking on it, it’s time to get more focused.

Big changes are coming up in my household, and money is going to be required. I’m going to have to get my ass in gear, and finish what I’ve got so that I can move on to other things. I’ve got to focus, and while jumping from project to project is fine and keeps things interesting, if I take on more than I can reasonably finish, then eventually I just run out of things I’m not bored of and it just becomes a tiring slog where I’m fighting to find things to distract myself. So it’s time to hunker down and get things done.

First and foremost, I’m going to be knocking out the last of these commissions. I simply took too many last time because people were excited, and hell I was excited to have the cash, but I need to pace myself.

Next, we’re going to finish Various Happenings, Chapter 5. I know I’ve said before that I made some mistakes and took on way too much work to begin with, and that’s pretty much the case here. So we’re just going to sit down and do it and get it over with so I can present it to you all. I hope the wait is worth it, I really do, but mostly I just want to start moving again.

Next, after that, I want to finish the prelude to one of my other projects that’s in progress. A little all ages comic called The Adventures of Clara Cosmos. I don’t know how many of you will enjoy it, but I have high hopes.

From that point onward, I’m going to be trying to balance project work with taking on paid jobs. When I’m focusing on projects, we’ll be doing Sketch on the Spot to bouy the expenses coming up, and between major checkpoints, I’ll be posting up commissions as needed.

Mainly I just need to get back in gear. I’d gotten pretty wrecked, honestly, and it’s taken me a while to be able to physically and mentally even cope with doing my job again, as well as being artist.

I don’t upload much anymore, though I have a huge backlog of things that need to be uploaded. I take way too long on getting my paid work done. I’m disorganized and addled, and I’m just… tired all the time.

So, I’ll be trying to address these things one at a time, as I go. I’m going to try and start taking better care of myself, little by little. And I’ve got some medical stuff coming up (along with other things in the household that aren’t related to me that I can’t talk about just yet, but will need my care and attention) that’s both going to need my focus as well as my monetary support.

So, right now, let’s just get things in gear and get the list checked off.

I’m mostly writing this as kind of… a pep talk for myself. You all have been very patient with me, and I’m honestly surprised. I’m glad, but I want to do better and produce more for you, and these last couple of years have been kind of a dearth in content both in my job aspect and for fun. I’m trying my best, but it’s hard sometimes.

Anyway, thank you for being there, and thank you for reading. I’m still here, and things are still going, and we’ll get there one way or another.
